Ace squeezed through the thin black poles of the fence and looked around. It was nearly nine at night, and the park had almost cleared out except for a few stragglers and janitors. Avoiding human eyes, he crept into the cover of some nearby bushes. A young teenage girl carrying a broom sighed loudly and pulled out a cell phone. Her eyes lit up, and her fingers flew across the key pad before snapping it shut. "Travis is taking me out to a movie," she called out to someone out of sight. "Can you take care of my shift?" A disappointed yes came from somewhere inside the gift shop only yards away, and the girl skipped happily to the exit, shedding her uniform jacket as she went. He crouched in the bushes for a moment longer before slinking out into the shadowy park. The ground was strewn with an odd assortment of food, toys, and tickets, but Ace passed by them all without a hint of interest. There had to be something exciting here, otherwise there never would have been so many people in here only hours before. In the distance, he could see what looked like a metal snake weaving in and out of itself until it seemed to be in a knot. Several more shops dotted the path, and Ace felt all his pent up excitement slip away. He had been waiting and spying for hours to find out what was in here only to find this? He climbed up a small ladder and found himself on a long, wooden platform leading to a gigantic metal wheel, carriage-like seats positioned at every spoke. He studied the contraption for a moment, but looked down in utter disappointment. Was they had all been looking at? Humans were so easily amused... A soft squeaking at the gate sent Ace reeling as he turned to see what had caused the noise. Had he been caught? Was it another animal or a human? His eyes narrowed, but not a single living thing was in sight. Must have been the wind, he concluded, not entirely convinced. Hair on end, he nervously turned back to the odd wheel. The wood beneath him creaked as someone stepped up from behind, but, this time, the tom didn't even bother to check. At the first sign of another presence, he leaped fearfully into one of the chairs stationed high off the ground and dug his sharp claws into the upholstery. He puffed up and hissed menacingly trying to scare his stalker away.

"Hello pussy cat," mewed a calico she-cat walking up to him. "Why is all your fur on end?" Ginger stalked around him showing no sign of fear, "What are you doing here? I've never seen you around."

Reika had been watching the cat since he squeezed through the poles, seeing this new cat she kinda growled a little. Loking back to ace she layed in the darknes, a twinkle in her eyes. She didn't see him as fod, butyet she saw him as somehing to chase. But max, before he vanished, had taught her to not chase cats. "Oh max, i miss you so much..." She said in a sorrowful voice, but it was in a low whisper, stalking out of the darkness she barked lowly and starred into Ace's eyes, they were beautiful eyes, waggingher tail just a bit showing she wasn't going to hurt HIM

Ace dug his claws deeper into the seat as a voice sounded below him. Gathering up his courage, he decided to take a peak at the beast that had chased him up here. He stuck his head out over the edge of the armrest, and spotted a small calico staring right back up at him, her bright eyes glowing eerily in the dark. Girl thingy cat...? How dare she insult me!! He leaped from his perch and landed on the platform with a muted thud. Now eye level with the female, he glared at her, ears laid flat against his head. He let out a low growl and studied her with contempt, not even paying attention to her words. "What did you call me?" he inquired angrily. "And for your information, I was up there only because you sneaked up behind me. Excuse me for being careful, but I have been caught by humans before and I would rather not have that happen again." A wooden floorboard squeaked behind them, and, before Ace even had time to react, a large dog emerged from the shadows. He stared at it with a hushed sense of panic and brandished his claws half expecting it to attack at any second. He stared wildly at it, tensing his muscles as he prepared to run for his life. He could see it advancing, and his sharp claws scratched against the wood in panic. The dog barked playfully, and he relaxed slightly, his hair smoothing out flat. "Ummm, hello," he said quietly, trying his best not to sound as nervous as he felt. Ace straightened up, and met the canine's happy gaze, all fear passing for good. His eyes brightened in relief, and he let his bristling tail fall back. "My name is Ace. What's your's?" He smiled at the dog with a friendly grin, already liking her more than the Calico. He glanced at the cat out of the corner of his eye, his tail twitching in an agitated fashion. Ace tried his best to ignore the female and turned his attention back to the canine before him. "I thought that I would be the only animal around here at this time of night," he said, quickly gaining courage. "The security is pretty tight for such a boring place... Do you have any idea what humans do for fun around here? I can't imagine them finding this too interesting." He cast a disappointed glance at the large wheel before turning back to the dog. That couldn't be all there was, or humans would never spend so much time in here.

Reika giggled softly hearing the male talk down the female like that, in her whole life she had never heard someone do that before. Shrugging a bit she laid down, she was on ledge or actually upon a mini stage staring down at the two. "Hello!" She said and rest her head on her paws staring down at them with a better view. She looked into ace's eyes and whined softly, his eyes reminding her of max... She shook her head and folded her ears flat, she didn't want to remember max, he was gone, and he never said goodbye either... she wanted to forget
Her eyes closed for a few seconds before her tail curled into a circle over her rump and she fell from her spot, landing on her back right beside the male cat, a slight smile n her face at what just happened, hoping she didn't look like an idiot

Ace watched the dog waiting patiently for an answer, but, after a moment, the only sign that she had actually heard him was a soft hello. He continued to stare expectantly into her eyes, but not a single word came from her after that. His tail twitched nervously as the dog studied him, and he suddenly became aware of how close his head was to her jaws. A dull pain reflected in the canine's eyes, and Ace tried his best to understand what she was doing. Her eyes flickered shut, and she fell to the ground beside him. Panic setting in, he jumped to his feet and stared at the dog who now lay motionless beside him. Her eyes were shut, and he was convinced that the creature had died. His heart sped up, and he cast a fearful glance back at the female, forgetting his annoyance for a moment and hoping that she would know what to do. He opened his mouth to say something, but felt the words fade before they even made it to his mouth. His ears perched alert on the top of his head as he stared down at the dog in utter confusion. Her chest rose slightly, and fear escaped him so quickly that Ace felt himself fall into a sitting position. A smile played across her muzzle, and he watched her quizzically. "Are you okay?" he asked uncertainly. The dog's eyes were still closed, and Ace knew that he wasn't completely safe yet. It could be a trick... He inspected her for any sign of injury that might lead to her sudden collapse, but she seemed perfectly healthy. With a skeptical frown, he had to convince himself that she meant no harm so that he didn't leave straight away. The calico behind him now completely forgotten, Ace watched the husky with a vague impression of pity. He lay down beside her, his worried eyes staring into hers as he did so. His tail swept across the ground behind him, and he placed a silvery paw gently on her muzzle.
