Rolling over and looking at the clock that told her it was 6:30 the tan girl sat up and said good morning to her "lap dog" Tango. Stretching Allie got up and put on a running outfit, she laid out the night before. Grabbing Tango's leash the two set out for the morning run in the park. It was a cool brisk morning that would turn into a warm winter’s day and for that Allie was great full. Tango played with his dog friends and played fetch with his tennis ball, and after a good hour the two went home. Allie jumped into the shower and threw on some work clothes; she still had boxes to un pack and tables to put together. Considering what she had unpacked since her move (which was close to nothing) it was going to take her almost all day to finish, but she knew Kyle was coming to pick her up for their date and she wanted the place to look put together in case he came in. After a few hours of putting together tables and desks Allie had her fair share of cuts and bruises from the hammer, she really was not a carpenter type girl. But, to her approval the living room was all done with its coach, love seat, recliner and entertainment center all matching the sand color walls. Allie figured that it was time for a break before she talked the dining room. It was almost 1 by the time Allie finished all her rooms and had taken Tango out for another walk. Allie had called Kyle to make sure they were still on for the date and to her agreement they were. Cleaning and running erins took up the rest of Allies day. Kyle would be here at 6 and so she had about two hours to get ready (and for her that was rushing). Allie showered and blow dried her chocolate brown hair and it was now time for the hardest part the clothes. After long processes of elimination Allie decided on a pink top and a white skirt with a pair of matching pink flats. Allie then decided that curly hair would best suit her mood today so she curled her hair and did her makeup. Allie had just taken out the last curl when she heard Tango bark and someone nock on the door. One minute. She said as she did on last swipe of mascara and threw on her shoes. Opining the door Allie smiled happy to see Kyle standing in front of her.

Kyle wandered uneasily along the cramped, overflowing aisles of perfumed parcels, trying to select a suitable gift for Allie. He had nearly two hours before he needed to go get her, but it seemed that he would never be able to find anything by then. The shelves were fully stocked with assortments of flowers and candy, but he couldn’t force himself to get her something like that. It was cheap… expected… lazy even. The quaint store brimmed with trinkets and novelties, but all of them seemed so mundane and uninspired. He would be ashamed to present these meaningless things to her. Kyle sighed and tried to focus on their conversation the day before, wishing to uncover any hint at all of what she would want. They had only talked for an hour, and he had been far too enveloped with the situation to glimpse anything beyond the eminent events. He smiled good-naturedly to himself as he gazed down at a display of cards, silently thankful in spite of the inconvenience. If it meant Allie’s happiness, he was glad to sacrifice such trivial things. Giving up on the rack of cards, he shuffled down another row only to find a pair of hazel eyes peering suspiciously at him from the counter. The woman leaned forward to watch him as he tried to duck from her sight, and Kyle quickly shifted his attention to the merchandise in front of him. A swift glance at the clock, however, made him laugh loudly to himself as he realized his search was nearing 45 minutes. She must think he was shoplifting! He stifled the outbreak as she rose from her seat, and he then turned to walk away, a pale hand covering his smirking lips. His shoulder absently brushed the shelves as he went, and thick plop made him stoop to pick up what had fallen. As his hands reached out to retrieve it, he stopped. Just beneath his fingers lay the plush image of a black and white puppy. A small, blue card dangled from its ear inscribed inside with a simple verse:
“We didn’t meet so long ago, But now it seems the days grow slow Whenever you are not with me. The birds may sing, and wind may blow, But there’s one thing you need to know: I love you more than you can see. The two of us are meant to be.”
He grinned and scooped it gently into his hands, startled as he straightened up to find the woman glaring accusingly at him only a few inches from his face. He flushed and stumbled backward in surprise, but recovered just in time to refuse the laughter that rose up inside him. He clutched the stuffed dog by his side and forced a somber expression to appease the lady whose face was now the burgundy of a ripe berry ready to burst. Thoughtlessly, he handed her the animal and shrugged to show her that he had nothing more. Her tense posture relaxed, and she allowed a small frown to mark her face as she continued to study him wordlessly. Cold eyes stared him down as if testing his strength before she finally appeared satisfied and turned her back on him. A sharp intake of breath caught her attention once more, and she glared at him as he stared at her open-mouthed. “I was going to buy that…” he ventured cautiously. “Can I have a bracelet, too? Silver if you have any…” Her eyebrows rose dangerously before the woman at last nodded and trudged off to the counter, setting the dog mercilessly down by the register. She presented him with several bracelets, and he picked quickly, now wanting nothing more than to leave before she called the police. Paying quickly, he took the items and hurried back to his car without further remark.
He reached Allie’s house and parked on the street so that he would have a few moments to prepare himself before seeing her. He had already signed the card, and the dog now sported the shimmering silver bracelet as a collar while it sat in the passenger’s seat waiting for its new owner. A deep breath readied him, and Kyle slid out of the car. His heart pounded in his ears as he followed the driveway to her door, and he barely had the strength to knock. A dog barked inside, and he could hear her call to him from somewhere inside. The door swung open, and he was caught off-guard once more as she stood before him, thick brunette locks curling gently around her tan face. “You’re so beautiful,” he admitted helplessly, before even realizing what he was saying. He smiled quickly at her and blushed. “So… what did you want to do first? I made the reservations for seven, so we have a while until then.”
((OOC: Forgive me for the crappy poetry. I haven't written any in about 9 years, and I am really tired. Sorry ))

Before she could say anything Kyle had complemented her. She gave a small shy sort of laugh and a smile to go along with it. Looking up at Kyle her brown eyes where shinning as the light hit them. Allie went to speak but stopped when she almost got knocked over by 150 pounds of speed. Tango had opened the door to her room and was coming at Kyle with his tail wagging. Before, she could react the big ball of fluff had is paws up on Kyle's shoulders and was licking his face. After a few moments of getting over the shock Allie reached out and grabbed Tango. Not knowing how he felt towards dogs Allie tried to contain her laughter, which was quite hard. Oh my, I am sorry. I... She couldn't hold it in any longer she started laughing and was hoping that he would join in.
Ganing control of her self she looked back to Kyle You um.. want to wash off your face? She left the door open and was taking Tango back to her room. Still laughing in her head about what happened. Coming back to the kitchen she saw Kyle wiping his face with a dish towel. I am really sorry about that. I hope you don't mind dogs. Allie grabbed the towel from Kyle and wiped off some of the soap that he had missed. Looking up at him, she stood there staring into his eyes and he stared back. This was interesting.

((OOC: Sorry that I took so long. I am incredibly busy with school. I should be able to post more when I get out, though. ))
Kyle grinned carelessly at Allie and felt any remaining tension dissolve as she uttered a small, self-conscious laugh. Her face shone in the golden light as she glanced up at him, chestnut eyes gleaming with happiness. A gentle warmth seemed to radiate from every inch of her soft, tawny skin to envelop him, and a tender meekness brushed her expression, making him reach out to her. His fingers skimmed the graceful curve of her cheek, and he returned her smile with one of his own, the girl’s skin silk beneath his touch. He couldn't believe that any of this was happening. Never in his life had he felt this way before. Of all of the people he had encountered, none of them measured up to the one standing before him now. She was so striking, so pure hearted, yet she had no idea how precious she was. “I mean it,” he said. “You’re gorgeous.” A flash of white from inside the house dispelled the momentary daze, and Kyle jumped to catch the girl as she stumbled forward upon the sudden impact. He set Allie on her feet when a jarring strength caught his shoulders and threw him backward with just enough time to regain his balance as he tumbled to the ground. His hands flew instinctively to push the assailant away when he caught sight of the great, slobbering dog that now lathered his face with kisses. His hands buried themselves into the thick fur on the dog’s sides, and he shrank away from the barrage, an amused grin spreading across his face despite his pounding heart… mostly because of it. He allowed Allie to pull the dog from him and straightened up, laughing loudly as a worried expression broke across her face. He met her apology with an unconcerned chuckle and nodded gratefully at her offer. She led him inside, and he looked curiously around until they reached the kitchen. It was a very nice place. How could someone her age manage to afford a house like this? He didn’t see any sign of her parents or even a roommate. These thoughts were disrupted by a creaking as she pushed the door open, and he ventured inside the tiled room. Splashing cold water against his face, Kyle washed away the mess and dried quickly off. He held the towel limply in his hands and gazed around, wondering where the two had gone. A quiet squeak alerted him to Allie’s entry from behind, and he turned back to wipe away the rest of the moisture clinging to his face. Her hands deftly caught the fabric from between his fingers, and she finished cleaning him up as he stared at her behind a mask of intrigue. How was it that she could be so kind and unreserved to almost a complete stranger? He knew he could trust her, but he did have a certain advantage after all. How could Allie, so innocent and fragile, accept him without question like this? She let him into her home and life with no previous knowledge of him whatsoever. How could he ever return her charity? His hand wound easily around her wrist as she let it fall to her side, and he gazed lovingly at her, wanting nothing more than to pull the woman to him and kiss her plush, pink lips. He gathered himself together before having even a moment to act upon the desire and instead thanked her and returned the cloth to its place. He couldn't allow himself to lose control. No matter what, he had to keep a distance, or he would run the risk of hurting them both.

When Kyle backed away Allie felt a mix of disappointment and somewhat relived, she didn't know which emotion to chose. Letting out the breath she had been holding she put the towel by the sink and backed away from the close encounter. Allie couldn't take her eyes off of him, it was like she was hypnotized or something. Realizing that she was staring Allie tried to make the situation less awkward. You look really nice Was all she could think of. Repeating what she had just said back in her head, Allie felt like taking a pan and hitting her self in the head. He tells you that you are gorgeous and all you can say is you look nice? Get yourself to gether Laughing slightly Allie looked up at Kyle Sorry about Tango he is just a big fluff ball. Looking at the clock Allie saw that it was almost 6:20. So um.. do you have any ideas for what you want to do until dinner? Allie was thinking of other things her-self but every thing she thought of sounded really dumb.

((OOC: I just want to make one thing clear before you read this. Ryuichi, Kyle's father, is a musician, and this is how he got the passes. Anyway, Kyle doesn't want Allie to figure out that his dad is famous, because he wants to know how she feels about him without that knowlege influencing her. Also, the whole CD deal is just because he can't stand his dad's music. )) A tinge of relief crossed the girl's face as he backed away, and Kyle forced a quick grin to hide the sinking feeling in his stomach. He watched her put the towel away and let the smile fade from his lips once her back was turned. His eyes fell to the floor as he listened to her, only replying with a laugh of disbelief to her compliment. It was his own fault for being so forward really. What had he expected from her? They had just met after all… Of course she was going to be shy about something like that. Slowly, these thoughts started to dissolve his former pain, and he laughed to himself, feeling slightly foolish for becoming upset so easily. He was just nervous… This was really important, so even the tiniest gesture meant a world of difference to him. Kyle glanced up at Allie when she spoke and reminded her that it was fine- that he was used to it after helping his mom out at the shelter where she worked. After the matter was settled, her brown orbs moved absently to the clock, and he smiled at her mention of going to dinner, the joke obvious only to him. "Yeah, we should probably get going, though," he said quietly. He smiled at her and stood in complete silence as she passed, wishing helplessly that he could reach out for her hand. Allie was to the living room by the time he hurried after her, and Kyle escorted her to the car. He opened her door and, having completely forgotten about the present until he glimpsed it, snatched it up from her seat just before she could see it. Hiding the dog behind his back, Kyle edged around to his own door and dropped quickly inside. “You can pick whichever station you want… I’ve got some CDs in the glove compartment, too if you’re interested, but you probably won’t like any of it.” He smiled hospitably at her before revving up the engine and flying down the street. The workers had only guaranteed him entrance if he got there before dark, so he had about thirty minutes. That should be just enough time if he hurried. Kyle slipped Allie’s present into his large coat pocket and continued along the road as he waited for her to pick out what music to listen to. He spotted a maroon disk, the words Ryuichi emblazoned across the front in silver, and removed it swiftly from the case with a soft laugh. “Yeah. You can pick anything, but that.” He blushed slightly as she looked at him, but kept his gaze fixed firmly on the road to avoid any questions. Fields swam passed on either side of the road, and a full, orange sun sank below the tree tops, leaving behind streaks of color in the dark sky. The two sat wordlessly in the vehicle, nothing but the whisper of music passing between them. After several minutes, Kyle dipped one hand into his pocket to grab the furry stuffed animal, presenting it to her with a modest grin. “I wasn’t sure what to get you,” he admitted. “I hope you like it… That’s actually a bracelet.” He pointed to the makeshift collar and smiled at her, before turning back to the road. He glanced up at the sign on the side of the highway and noted that there were only a few miles to go. The sun continued its dramatic descent, and Kyle only relaxed once he had pulled off on the right exit. They were going to make it. He just needed to hope that the workers had decided to keep their deal. They pulled into a deserted parking lot, and Kyle smiled slyly at her. “You caught me… We’re not going out to dinner.” He examined her expression for a moment before displaying a laminated pass, a thin, blue cord dangling from it so that she could hand it around her neck. The letters VIP were printed just above an inscription of his mother’s name. “Sorry, you’re going to have to be Celia… I hope you don’t mind, but it’s the only way to get inside after hours.” He laughed quietly at her expression and tucked his own beneath the collar of his shirt. Kyle stepped out of the car and was glad to see that the ticket booth was still illuminated by a lone, flickering light. His hand caught Allie on the small of the back, and he stopped her just a few feet away from the counter. “Wait here. I need to make sure that everything is in order,” he spoke. Again, Kyle was ensnared by her dark eyes, the thought of pulling away almost painful. I need to be careful… His fingers pressed firmly against her back, and he leaned closer. I really shouldn’t do this… Her warm breath played gently against his chest, and, just as it seemed as if he had lost control, he tore away with a timid laugh. “I’ll be right back.” Winking, he ventured toward the light to find a man watching him from behind the glass with a strong air of ennui. The cool night cleared his head as he waited beneath the florescent light, and Kyle calmly presented his pass by sliding it through a cutout in the window. The man read it swiftly, and Kyle knew his argument before the worker even opened his mouth. The teenager put his back to Allie and dug hastily through his pockets. "You don’t look like—" “I know! I am his son. Look,” he interrupted producing his driver’s license and pressing it flat against the glass. “He gave them to me. Can we please not talk about this in front of her?” The man stared suspiciously at him as if trying to detect any deceit, but, after a time, only nodded and flicked the silver switch at his side, the entire park lighting up in a dazzling glow. Kyle smiled in satisfaction and beckoned Allie to join them. The worker exited his booth to meet them around front, and Kyle happily took the moment to spend in solitude with Allie. “My father helped advertise the park when they first opened up, and they gave him these passes as reconciliation. He never uses them, though, and I thought you might enjoy it. These passes can get us into a few of the exhibits (with supervision, of course.)” The sign in front of them blazed in the night, and a twin pair of iron gates creaked open to allow them entrance. “What do you want to see first? We've got the entire place to ourselves.”
