Brandy walks slowely through the tall grass, she can hear water somewhere. She smells around untill her nose touches the cold water. Brandy starts to lap it up making sure she was fully hydrated. Once done Brandy goes to lie down under a small tree to rest. Brandy can hear the fish swimming through the water and the birds chirping above, She walkes around in a circle a few times then plops down onto the ground. Brand chews on a few peices of grass and starts to feel tired.

Nathan stalked through the tall grass, his bushy red tail high in the air as he sniffed fervently for the mouse he had been chasing. A rustle in the underbrush made his fur stand on end and his emerald eyes flew into action, searching every inch of the terrain for his prey. His tail swished gracefully in the wind, and the fox edged toward the intermittent sound of squeaking as his adversary struggled in a thicket of weeds. Nails digging into the earth, Nathan smiled to himself and prepared to pounce- to finally catch his prey after the long pursuit. One last squeal for help rang out before he leaped, toppling through the foliage only to land on his back by the bank of a river. Straightening himself up, Nathan glanced around to regain his sense of direction and watched helplessly as the mouse scampered into the safety of a nearby burrow. He had greater problems, though. Where was he? Bewildered, the fox ambled along the foreign stream in perusal of a clearing but to no avail. Stalks of grass towered ominously overhead, and he paced back to his entrance only to find that it had become indistinguishable from the all of the other trails blazed through the field. His heart thudded rapidly as he raced desultorily through the through the tendrils. A paw slipped on the damp grass and plummeted into a hollow in the ground, sending his helpless body rolling to the end of the embankment and directly into the surging river.

Brandy was suddenly awaken from her deep sleep. She blinked a few times and sniffed around until she remembered where she was. She stumbled towards the river nibbling on some grass along the way. She heard a loud splash, Brandy's ears pricked up listening and she was suddenly alert. Thinking it could have been a fish, she walks forwards coutiosly. Then after a few steps forward she notices another fox in the river. The fur on her back stood up. Brandy bared her teeth and let out a low growl. This was the first time she had seen a fox since her and her brother got seperated

With a sharp intake of breath as he was submerged in the icy water, Nathan struggled against the drift but felt himself being carried along nonetheless. Knolls flew by on either side as he tried to clamber to the shallow embankment, undercurrents catching his feet every time they grazed the bottom. He fought desperately to keep his head above the river and gasped for air before being dragged under altogether. Limbs flailing wildly, his claws latched themselves onto a patch of mossy rock and held on against the torrent. The fox slowly managed to drag himself from the stream and collapsed on the grass in an exhausted heap, water dripping from his soaked coat. Begrudgingly, he picked the moss from his paws and slapped his drenched tail against the earth with a sour frown marking his maw.

Brandy watches as the fox struggles through the water and climb out. She lowers her head and lets out a louder growl, and takes a step back. Brandy slowly heads towards the water a few feet away from the other fox, watching him from the corner of her eye. She takes a long sip and dips her head in to cool off. Still watching the other fox Brandy shakes the water from her head and takes a step towards him.

Nathan continued to pick the bits of algae and mud from his fur until a low snarling caught his attention, and he jumped defensively to his feet. Eyes wide with fear as he spotted the black face of his intimidator, the young fox retreated a few steps away with his head low in submission. Her dark orbs studied him for a moment before seeming satisfied, and the female casually turned to lap up a drink of water as if she had forgotten all about him. Gradually, Nathan lowered himself back to the ground to finish his grooming but took care to keep his eyes on her just in case she happened to change her mind and attack. The vixen shook droplets of water from her snout as she rose, and he flinched when her gaze returned to him once more. Damp ears lay flat against his skull as Nathan crouched, preparing to escape. He may not be able to fight the female, but he could likely outrun her.

Brandy put her head down almost to the ground, hoping that acting less dominant might save her from a fight. She stopped growling and again moved forward, but the fur was still standing. Uncomfortable Brandy looks away taking a long yawn. With his submission Brandy fell sort of safe around him and callmed down some more letting the fur on her back lower to her skin. She lowered he front legs to the growned making sure that he would see her submission to him

Nathan crouched low to the ground, the hair of his shoulders bristling as he bared his teeth, but the vixen just kept drawing nearer. Backing away with emerald eyes trained solely on her, the fox tucked his tail between his legs and flattened his ears back. She wasn't stopping. He snarled quietly, hoping to distract his assailant long enough to make an escape, but stopped as the female bowed her head to him. He watched her suspiciously before letting his guard drop, his pounding heart slowly returning to its regular beat. Long, ebony legs stretched out before the vixen as she lowered herself to the ground, and Nathan padded cautiously over, his shinning nose twitching as he sniffed the female's muzzle. Wagging his tail deliberatively, the fox let his tongue loll out as he barked playfully at her.
