I never did one of these things before, so.......yeah, but I'll try. Let's see........
Baby look at the water and signed. How long has it been since she last saw her family and friends. The one year old, long black fur cat look around. 'Am I really ready to meet new cats?' she though to herself. A few months ago when she lost her family and friends, she thought she never get over it, and even though it still hurt, she thought she was ready to meet to new friends. 'Just because I meet new friends doesn't mean I'll forget my old ones,' Baby thought as she looked back at the water.

Ace stretched and yawned quietly, allowing his paw to hang limply over the branch. Silver beams of moonlight broke through gaps in the trees and reached out to the dark underbrush below. His tail whipped slowly back and forth, and he stared at the ground in dull interest. The happy chorus of twittering bird filled the night air with a serene beauty. He blinked and surveyed the land with his burning blue eyes. A small mouse rustled along the tops of the fallen leaves, and Ace's ears swiveled forward, all attention on the rodent. His maw curled into a grin, and he stood up, perched on the thin tree limb. He dug his claws deep into the tree bark and climbed down to the trunk, licking his lips in anticipation. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he watched the prey, and he leaped to a clear patch of dirt among the forest floor. No more than a soft swish announced his arrival, but, all the same, the mouse straightened up on full alert. He crouched low to the ground, his belly brushing against the cool earth and his eyes fixated on the creature only a few yards before him. He made his way smoothly and silently to the small creature and watched it with mounting curiosity. A brisk breeze blew through setting the rodent again on edge as he looked toward the ruffling leaves. Taking his chance, Ace pounced on the mouse softening the blow the best that he could. The rat struggled underneath his paws, and he let up just enough to keep from harming the animal. Its tiny razor like claw scratched helplessly at his feet, and Ace frowned at the poor creature's bulging, beady eyes that were now filled with horror and panic. He grabbed it gingerly by the ruff of its neck, and carried the flailing critter over to the edge of the gleaming pond. The mouse hung pitifully from his mouth, sides heaving in exhaustion, and Ace lay down setting the rodent in front of him. For a moment, the beast sat before him in utter fatigue as if waiting for its demise. It cowered slightly as Ace's nose twitched taking in the animal's scent, and it set off scurrying back to its forest home. Not wanting to be abandoned just yet, he trapped the rodent's tail underneath his paw and stopped it only a few inches from where it had gone. It's feet scraped at the ground trying to pull itself away, but Ace wasn't going to let it get away just yet. He dragged it back in front of him and continued to study the poor creature wishing that it would just hold still. I'm not going to hurt you, he thought. I just want someone to play with. A branch cracked nearby, and Ace jumped up, the mouse scampering away the moment it was released. His eyes scanned the dark terrain for the source, but he couldn't differentiate shadows from the darkened ground. His head held low, he walked around the edge of the shimmering lake to investigate. As he neared, another sudden movement sent him reeling backward his hair standing on end. What if it was a bear? he wondered fleetingly. Just as the thought had entered his mind, a pair of glowing eyes met his, and Ace settled himself slightly. "Hello," he said in the most casual voice he could manage. "What are you doing out here?" A beam of light caught the rippling pool, and he could finally make out an ebon cat staring back at him, her glossy coat catching the moon's glow.

Baby stared at the cat for a moment before speaking. "Hello," she said quietly. 'Is could be your chance to make a friend!' she thought.

Ace smiled, his needle pointed fangs glimmering in the silvery glow. He sat down and gave her a bow of gentleman-like decorum. As he gazed back up at her, his sapphire blue eyes flickered and narrowed as he tried to make out her face in the dim lighting. She greeted him, casually bypassing his question, and Ace's tail twitched slightly. "My name is Ace," he said. "Pleased to meet you." He shifted, his luxurious pelt catching the light as he did so, and his eyes darted back to where the rodent had escaped, before falling again on her. His full attention now on the female, Ace got to his feet, his long tail sweeping across the forest floor. "What might your name be?" he inquired in a noble voice. "And what is a beautiful cat like yourself doing out here, especially so late at night? You could get hurt you know." He watched her with an intrigued stare, barely allowing himself to blink as if afraid that she would vanish. At every breath of the wind, his ears flicked back, trying to sense any danger, but his full focus remained on her as he eagerly awaited her reply. After a moment silence, he finally allowed his attention to drift and looked out through a gap in the trees. In the distance, he could just make out a small patch of light. He gifted his new acquaintance with a smile and opened his mouth to speak. "Would you like to accompany me back to town?" he asked. "I was just about to head there myself, and I am sure would could find a meal more suitable to your tastes there." He watched her for a second before continuing, sensing that she may need a bit more encouragement. "I know of a very fine restaurant just on the edge of the city," he added. "We are obviously not permitted inside, but the chef there often throws out some very elegant dishes. There are mountains of untouched fish and pasta... almost anything you can think of, actually. So, how about it? Are you interested?"

Baby stared, thinking about the question for a minute. 'Go into town? What's a town?' Baby's family never lived near a town, but Baby's curiosity get the best of her and she said, "Yes, I like to go to this town." She was about to ask what a town was before she remembered one of Ace's question. 'Oh, and by the way, my name is Baby'.

Ace watched the female closely, knowing she was thinking hard about his offer. He sat down and waited patiently, dearly wishing that he would have company for dinner. She answered, and he got to his feet in excitement, a bright smile burning on his face. His leopard spotted tail swished happily behind him. "Wonderful," he purred. He beamed at her for a moment, almost forgetting that he was to lead the way. He gave her a hearty laugh and bowed his head slightly. "Well, it's this way. Just follow me!" He pranced in the direction of the light, but, despite his energy, kept his pace at a walk so that she could keep up. He padded along the soft earthen path at her side, smiling over at her occasionally. She spoke up again, and Ace came to a stop. "Nice to meet you, Baby," he meowed, grinning at her. The two of them continued on in silence, and the the light in the clearing grew larger with every step. At last they reached the edge of the forest, and Ace blinked rapidly, his eyes watering as light flooded around them. He walked quickly along the smooth pavement to avoid the street lights and walked underneath the shade of the trees. "It's only a little farther," he told her in an encouraging voice. "I forgot how far it was." He stood at the edge of the road and searched it for headlights before passing. As he took a step forward, a yellow sports car zoomed down the street, its engine roaring as it went. Heart pounding, Ace leaped backward, pushing Baby out of the way, too. He took in a deep breath to calm himself and watched the red tail lights swerve dangerously along the road and out of sight. Ace walked quickly over to Baby and stood beside her, a worried look on his face. His eyes were wide in panic as he searched her for injury. "Are you okay?" he panted. "I am so sorry! I couldn't see him! The hill was in the way! Oh, I am so sorry! Please tell me you didn't get hurt!"

It was along walk to this town, but Baby didn't say nothing about it. Finally, after alot of walking they reached a road. Baby watch Ace looking left, then right. He had only taken a step when yellow sports car came roaring down the street. Baby felt herself being pushed and for a second she thought she got hit back the car. She look up and saw the yellow car driving away. She heard someone walking towards her and snapped her head in the direction for where the noise was coming from and saw Ace. Her eyes narrowed, and she felt anger raising inside her. But it quickly faded when she heard Ace's question. She smiled and nodded. "I'm not hurt.........thank you for saving me."

Ace smiled as she got to her feet and closed his eyes in silent thanks. As he opened them, she stared straight back at him, anger burning behind her gaze. He watched her for a moment in panicked fear. What had happened? Was she hurt? He watched her wide-eyed until her expression faded, and he relaxed. He gave her a wide grin at her answer, but felt himself checking for wounds all the same. Once he was certain that she was uninjured, Ace casually flicked his ears forward and stepped closer to her side so that there wouldn't be another close call. The two of them stood shoulder to shoulder at the edge of the road, Ace paying full attention for any vehicles. They waiting for a full minute until he actually set foot on the pavement again. He cast a swift, worried glance at Baby, and urged her onward so that the two cats were moving at the same pace, seemingly joined at the side. He stepped beyond the yellow line marking the halfway point, still taking certain safety measures and remaining alert for any cars. A soft rumble in the distance broke them into a full run, and they reached the sanctuary of the sidewalk long before the car reached them. The danger of the road now behind them, Ace trotted along the sidewalk in a lighter mood. He held his tail high, sometimes racing ahead of Baby and doubling back to meet her, each time greeting the female with a large smile. "Come on. We're almost there," he chimed as the city lights rose on the horizon. "What do you want to eat? There is fish... turkey, ham, tuna, cheese... You just have to tell me so I know which restaurant to pick. Or we can always hunt if you prefer something more fresh. There isn't a lot of good prey within city limits, but there is a farm nearby, and you can find anything your heart desires there. I even found a stream teeming with fish less than a mile off."

"Turkey, ham, tuna, cheese"? Baby looked at Ace for a second. "I never heard of those before. I like to try those."

Ace smiled at her, the two of them face to face as he struggled to trot backwards. Her answer coming as a shock, he paused momentarily before bounding after her, glimmering, silver tail held high. Once again the two of them stood shoulder to shoulder, and Ace met her gaze with a gentle smile. Could she really be serious? Had she never heard of any of those? Surely her master had given it to her once... He frowned for a moment as the image of her in the forest reflected in his mind. She wasn't wild, was she? He studied the female for a moment, his blue eyes searching every inch of her frame, and his pink nose twitching slightly as it tried to detect any evidence of feral life. Cognizance finally dawning, he flicked his tail and gave her an even brighter smile. "Well, you're going to love it," he promised, posing a severely delayed remark. "We can stop at the deli and see if he has thrown out anything worthwhile tonight." Again the two felines were left to walk in silence as Ace pondered her situation. She must never leave the forest then, he thought incredulously. Even stray cats come into town to hunt and search for food. There is so much she must not know about then. Was it safe for her to be traveling about when she had no idea of the danger that awaited? There were cars and animal control... traps, poison, dogs. He could never teach her those things in the little time that was left of their journey. Considering this for a moment, he stared at the female with a worried gaze. They had nearly gotten hit by a car already, and there was still so much more awaiting her. If she were to get hurt or killed, he would never be able to forgive himself, but if they abandoned the quest now, she might never know what town was like, and it was likely that they would never again meet. Surely, being from the wild, she would be able to fend off any animals or humans. He would just have to keep a good watch on her. They reached the corner of the sun-bleached walkway, and found themselves on a dazzlingly bright path. Street lights flooded the way with a soft white glow that mingled among the bright reflections of neon and the warming flicker of fire. There was a myriad of various shops on either side of the road, each one putting forth its own share to further the exciting atmosphere: A wide variety of scents wafted along with everything from the tantalizing scent of sweets at the baker's to the mouthwatering aroma of meat from both the butcher's and the deli. Hearty shouts filled the air as a group of drunken men cheered on their team from a nearby bar. Few humans roamed the street at these hours, and, only occasionally did a car pass them. Once in town it only took a few minutes for them to reach the Deli. Ace, giving Baby a broad smile, led her along a thin, abandoned corridor to the back. Several trash bins were lined up along the dingy wall, but plastic containers dotted the ground at their feet. Picking up is pace, he selected the largest one and inspected the box for a choice way to go about opening it. He pried his paw underneath the lid and wrenched it away, eyes widening at the tremendous feast. The large plastic plate held a vast array of food. Every kind of meat that you could think of was arranged neatly on the majority of the surface, but, in the center was a small stack of cheeses. Ace allowed Baby to choose first before unraveling a slice of turkey and nibbling happily at the edge.

Baby watched Ace open a box he had found. Once it was opened, she looked in the box and pick up some meat with her month and few a atop a few steps away from the box with food to eat her meat. "Hmm, this is good. What this is one? Ham, turkey, tuna?" Baby asked.
